Aziza's Place has been saved from a dreadful rainy season by Moms Against Poverty, a USA non-profit and ardent supporter of AP since our founding. Thanks to MAP's generous donation, we will be able to repair our extremely leaky roof just in time for the rainy season to begin in June. The leaks were a major disruption and safety hazard to the children. Additionally, MAP has provided the funds to renovate the structurally unsound walls of the girl's living quarters which includes a widening of the girls' living space.
The construction work is being led by two fathers of AP residents. We are proud to have the opportunity to employ families for this important job. This donation is in addition to a $10,000 grant from MAP for the 2009-2010 year. The children and staff of AP send our biggest thanks to Moms Against Poverty for their invested support and assistance.
