Rotha writes about AP residents participating in staff meetings. |
AP has a new program which provides the older kids opportunities to discuss and join one staff meeting per month.
Before the meeting day, we all gathered together and chose a representative. I was the first person chosen to represent all the kids at the staff meeting. After talking about our desires, we talked about our needs and problems that we want to find a solution for in the meeting.
After the meeting finished, the kids came together again and I informed them of everything I discussed with the staff.
The meeting made me feel more confident to share my thoughts and have strong communication with all the staff. It especially taught me to be a leader among the kids.
